A Model for Effective online Instructional Design
The
article highlights the increasing popularity of online instruction in education
and corporate training and the need for effective instructional design models.
A poorly designed online course can confuse students, lose their focus, and frustrate
them. The article reviews two traditional instructional design models and then
examines the current five ISD models or standards that are mostly cited and
applied for designing and developing an online or hybrid class. The purpose of
the article is to propose a stand-alone online ID model that effectively guides
an online instructor and educator to design quality online courses that enhance
active and engaging learning.
